Implementation of Reduction in GST
Directives issued for facilitating implementation of reduction in GST -
- Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Weights and Measures Unit – dated 09.09.2025.
- Ministry of Finance to Central Tax, CGST Zones for price status information (pre and post 22.09.2025) – dated 09.09.2025
- Drugs Controller General (India) – dated 11.09.2025.
- DoP, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority – dated 12.09.2025 and 13.09.2025.
Implementation methodology
- All manufacturers, marketers, importers to reduce MRP to extent of reduction in GST from 22.09.2025.
- Manufacturers, marketers, importers to issue revised price lists (Form V/VI) to dealers, retailers, State Drug Controllers and Central Government.
- Retailers to display the revised price list to consumers.
- Manufacturers, marketers, importers may (not mandatory) re-label or re-sticker revised MRP on stock in the market provided it does not cause any shortage, and they are able to ensure price compliance at retailer level.
- DCGI has granted NOC to affix sticker of revised MRP for such purpose to importers, manufacturers of Class C and Class D medical devices for 3 months.
- Manufacturers, importers of medicinal products to seek NOC from concerned State Licensing Authority for alteration of labels for such purposes.
